Aldon L. Bradley, age 82, born on October 7, 1941 of Burnsville, North Carolina, went home to be with the Lord on August 27, 2024 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Aldon was born in Jefferson, TN, grew up in Marshall, NC and lived in Burnsville, NC. Aldon is preceded in death by his parents, Sankey and Irene Bradley; infant twin sister and brothers: Donald and Charles Bradley.
There was nothing Aldon loved more than the Lord, his wife Sheila and his family. To know Aldon was to love him. His beautiful heart, kind words, strong work ethic and giving personality made him who he was.
Aldon retired as manager of Burnsville Ingles Supermarket in 2004. He had a wonderful career in the grocery store business and quickly became manager where he worked three different locations. After retirement, he enjoyed spending time with family, in his garden and working part-time at Prices Creek General Store. Aldon had such a love for his job, always made sure his customers were taken care of.
Those left to cherish Aldon’s memory is his wife, Sheila; daughter, Chastity (Sampson) Collier; granddaughter, Paten Collier; grandson, Taten (Shanlee) Collier and great-granddaughter, Wrenley Collier. He is also survived by two step-sons: Jason Elkins and his children: Dustin, Dillion, Haley, McKenzie, John and Nevaeh and Brian (Lona Mae) Elkins and his children: Leia and Dakota; three sisters-in-law: Linda Bradley, Diana Austin and Pam (David) McMahan. Several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends also survive.

Burial will follow in the Williams Cemetery on Sharp Top Road. The family will receive friends from 1 until 3 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home. At other times will be at the home of Sampson and Chastity Collier at 315 Sharp Top Road in Burnsville, NC.
The family would like to give their thanks and gratitude to all that have supported them. While this disease may take a lot from you, Aldon’s wife and daughter can tell you it never took away his love for the Lord. He could tell you some of his favorite Bible verses, say his prayers, tell you when he was saved and baptized and tell you that the most important thing in life is going to Heaven. The family will forever cherish those sweet memories.
Memorial donations may be made to Compassionate Care WNC at 856 Georges Fork Road, Burnsville, NC 28714.
