According to the Yancey County Board of Elections they have received lots of calls and people coming by concerned with their voter registration. People have stated that they are receiving phone calls or text messages stating that they are no longer registered to vote. These are fake calls and texts. This is a ROBO call spreading disinformation (information that is deliberately created to mislead, harm or manipulate a person social group, organization or county). Voters can check their registration on the NC State Board of Elections webpage ncsbe.gov, they can call the Yancey County Election Board office at (828)628-3950 or go by in person any time between 8:30 am and 5 pm Monday through Friday.
