Anthony James Watts, age 56, of the Prices Creek Community, passed away on Monday, September 2nd, 2024 at his home. A native of Yancey County, he was a son of Rita Edwards Watts and the late JC Watts. Anthony loved the Lord and going to church. He enjoyed cooking, baking and watching sports. He lived with his mom, Rita, for the last three years, although there were many ups and downs she enjoyed every minute of it and will greatly miss him.
Surviving in addition to his mother is his son, Shannon Watts of Buladean; brothers: Archie Watts and wife, Teresa, of Burnsville and Daniel Edwards of Marion; close friend, Sheila McPeters also of Marion; best friend, Scooter Austin of Bald Creek and a nephew, Waylon Watts and wife, Anna, of Grundy, VA.
Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, September 6th in the Elkins Cemetery on Prices Creek. Pastor Logan Buchanan and Pastor Don Wilson will officiate.
