Roy Lee Elkins, age 50, of the Prices Creek Community, passed away on Friday, August 30th, 2024. A native of Yancey County, he was a son of Ben and Marvelene Austin Elkins of Prices Creek. He was preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Tipton and all of his grandparents. Roy Lee enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, riding his dirt bike and four-wheeler. He will be remembered by his family as being full of life and they will dearly miss him.
Surviving in addition to his parents, Ben and Marvelene, is his sister, Teresa Wilson and husband, Don, of Burnsville; nieces: Kayla Buchanan (Logan) of Burnsville, Kelsey Bailey (Dale) of Mars Hill and Candace Tipton of Burnsville and a nephew, Lucas Tipton also of Burnsville. Six great-nieces, one great-nephew and lots of friends also survive.
