For Sale: ’80’s model Wheel Horse 417-8 lawn tractor with 42 inch mowing deck: has rear hydraulic lift, has tow ball on it, been motor swapped to a Briggs and Stratton 16 HP that means the original Kohler motor that was in it was took out and another put in. It runs and mows good but has to be stopped with clutch cause brake pedal don’t work and to be started have to turn key on and press a switch that’s wired to the solenoid cause it needs a new solenoid which is like $10. The switch gets stuck sometimes causing the starter to drag so have to press on it to get it unstuck it’s a like a 40 year old lawn tractor. It needs work but mows good and there’s plenty of attachments out there for this model, serious inquiries only. Fyi This is a 8 speed and you do have to shift the gears by pressing the clutch in making it a manual…figured I make that clear before there’s anymore confusion which is very easy to do, just press clutch all the way down put in gear you want to be in let clutch off press clutch in to slow down or stop. So in future needs brake work and solenoid or can be used as is using the clutch to stop and switch to start it Could use new gas cap one on it isn’t the best there around $8-12 that’s all that I know is wrong with it and why I’m pricing it so low $400 cash “as is’, not a penny less.
