Cleo Junior Davis, age 85, of the Penland Community, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 8th, 2024 at Smoky Ridge Health and Rehabilitation.
A native of Mitchell County, he was a son of the late Charles and Thelma Cook Davis. He was also preceded in death by a brother, James Davis; grandson, Kameron Wilson and sons-in-law: David Randall Wilson and Johnny Wayne Duckett.
Cleo loved to loafer, feeding all kinds of animals, especially his cat, Tiger, watching westerns on TV and spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving is his loving wife of 52 years, Rebecca Ann Davis; daughters: Ann Davis Wilson and Jennifer Williams; sister, Margie Davis; brother, Howard Davis; grandchildren: Jacob Duckett (Marquita), Joni Huffman, Kaelen Wilson (Shannah) and Kurtis Wilson; great-grandchildren: Anthony Kevin Wilson, Theodore Wilson, Braylin Silvers and Madeline Hope Duckett and nephews: Gregory Davis and Andy Davis.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 13th in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Pastor Lance Riddle will officiate. Burial will follow in the Fork Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home.
