Ruthie L. Beaver, age 70, of the Prices Creek Community, went Home to be the Lord on Sunday, October 20th, 2024 at Smokey Ridge Health and Rehabilitation. A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late Joe and Opal Fox Blankenship. She is preceded in death by her husband, Scotty Beaver, and two sisters: Adalene Higgins and Cathy Austin (Burl).
Ruthie’s favorite past time was reading the Bible and spending time with her family. She was a member of Prices Creek Union Baptist Church where she taught Bible School every year and loved singing in the choir.
Surviving are her sons: Travis Brown (Cynthia) of Charleston, SC and Chris Brown (Christel) of Burnsville; a daughter, Kim Brown (Kenny) of Kentucky; Grandchildren: Ashley, Brandon, Tyler, Caleb, Christa, Christian, Jordan, Austin, Daniel and Cody; two nieces: Debbie Hensley and Amy Autrey; one nephew John Austin; one brother-in-law: Ray Higgins of Burnsville. She is survived as well by many great-grandchildren and extended family members who she loved very much.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
