Oss Wilson, age 90 of Old Fort, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, October 17, 2024. Born on September 1, 1934, he was the son of the late John Lee Wilson and Bertha Whitson Wilson. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Alice Riddle Wilson; former spouse, Emma Jean Tolley Wilson; daughter, Nellie Arlene Wilson Jones; stepdaughter, Laura Fortner; brothers: Fred Wilson, and infant brother, Paul Wilson; sisters: Hazel Silver, and Lora Phillips; as well as a great-grandson, Alex Jones, and great-great granddaughter, Cora Laine Murdock.
Left to cherish his memory is his son, Gary Wayne Wilson; stepsons: Glen (Rita) Edwards, Kevin (Sherry) Edwards, Howard (Michelle) Arnold; brothers: James Wilson and Farrell Wilson; sisters: Neta Fox and Maxine Holloway: grandson, Jason Jones; step-grandsons: John (Donna) Fortner, Ryan Wheeler, and Nathan Beckham; step-granddaughters: Nicole (Matt) Loftis, Jacqueline Arnold, Erica Arndt, and Hillary Wheeler; nieces: Patricia Garland, Lisa Robinson, Tammy Wilson, Ida Holloway, Becky Holloway, and Kim Holloway; nephews: Donald (Theresa) Wilson, Mike Holloway, Stanley Holloway, Greg Holloway, Paul Wilson, and Randy Wilson; as well as 23 great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2024, in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home in Burnsville, NC. The family will be receiving friends and loved ones one hour prior to the service. Reverend Donald Wilson will officiate. Interment will follow the service at the Silver Holler Cemetery off Bear Wallow Road in Burnsville, NC.
