Lois Ingram, age 90, of Broad Branch Road in Bakersville, passed away Friday, October 25, 2024 at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine.
Born on July 14, 1934 in Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late Jule and Ruby Miller Whitson. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Jeter Ingram who passed away in 1994. Also preceding her in death was an infant sister, Nora Jean Whitson, her daughter, Linda Sue Davis, her brother, Leonard Whitson and her son-in-law, John Morgan.
Lois was a member of the Middle District Freewill Baptist Church. She was retired from Memorial Hospital in Johnson City, TN.
She loved spending time with her family. She was a ‘worker’ that stayed busy all of the time. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, working in her garden and flowers.
Left to cherish her memory is her son; Ira Ingram of Bakersville, her daughter; Nora Madge Morgan of Olympia, WA, her grandchildren; Rocky Ingram, Josh Ingram, Jody Ingram, Kyla Tinney, Jessica Sheets, and Anna Buchanan; her great grandchildren; Abram Ingram, Logan Ingram, Skylar Ingram, Kensie Gouge, Audrey Ingram, Amelia Ingram, Terry Buchanan and Wesley Buchanan; and her great great grandchildren; Addison Buchanan and Landon Buchanan.
A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be Thursday, October 31, 2024 from 11:00 am until 12:00 noon at Middle District Freewill Baptist Church. The funeral service will be Thursday, October 31, 2024 at 12:00 noon at Middle District Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Blaine Whitson officiating. Interment will be in the Troutman – Ingram Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a ‘Special Thank You’ to Anna and Thomas and Angela Hughes for their care of Lois during her illness.
