Mitchell County held a special Flag Raising Ceremony on October 25th at the county courthouse. They proudly raised the American Flag, the North Carolina flag, and for the first time, the newly created Mitchell County Flag. This event marked a significant moment for the Mitchell County community as the transition is made to recovery, post Helene. The ceremony included opening remarks from Mitchell County Manager Allen Cook, flag raising led by Bakersville Mayor Chuck Vines, and a presentation of the Mitchell County flag.
