Local attorney Beth Holmes has been chosen to serve on the Spruce Pine Town council. The council voted unanimously after reviewing applications, sighting Holmes’ skills as an attorney as being an asset. The other applicant was Dori Settles. Holmes will fill the seat of Larry McKinney, who resigned in August.
Holmes is a native of Mitchell County. She graduated from Mitchell High School in 1997 and went on to receive a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in Trust Management from Campbell University in 2001. After completing her undergraduate studies, she pursued her Juris Dictorate from Campbell University School of Law and graduated in 2004. She then returned to her hometown of Spruce Pine to partner with her husband, Michael, and establish their law firm, Holmes & Holmes.
