Faye was a charter member of Faith Fellowship Church of Newdale and enjoyed all the activities of the church. She loved hiding God’s Word in her heart and sharing her faith in Jesus. She worked as an Insurance Agent in Burnsville for 36 years. After retiring from Yancey Insurance Agency in 1991, she became a member of Yancey County Senior Center where she enjoyed the ceramics and painting classes under Norma Fox for several years, as well as the Bible classes taught by Rev. Harvey Sharpe, Jim Deaton and others. She loved the fellowship of her friends while singing, playing Bingo and, as she described it, “using the challenging Billiard tables”. She was a long standing member of YCCA. Faye had many hobbies. She was an avid reader and a lover of poetry and puzzles. She loved sewing, crafting, painting and creating and sharing her creative treasures with those around her. She tried her hand at painting landscapes in her early nineties, and as with most everything she put her hand to, was quite accomplished. She had a knack for growing things and was a gifted flower gardener. Traveling was one of the highlights of her life and she enjoyed several trips and bus tours before her health started declining. She loved life, lived it fully— always ready for an adventure and has now embarked on her greatest forever adventure with Jesus!
