Margaret “Diane” Briggs Ross, age 66, of the Bowditch Community, went Home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 3rd, 2024 at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital. A native of Yancey County, she was the daughter of Shirley Geouge Briggs and the late Thurman Briggs. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Darrell Briggs.
Diane retired from Merita Bread where she was a manager for many years. She loved going to the beach, swimming and playing golf. She was a member of Faith Fellowship Church in Micaville. She loved her family and will be dearly missed by everyone.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her fiancé, Allen King of Old Fort; niece, Tara Graybeal (Derick) of South Toe; nephews: Heath Briggs (Sasha) of Green Mountain and Christopher Sullins (Mary) of Atlanta, GA; and sister-in-law, Sabrina Briggs of Spruce Pine, as well as her extended family.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 9th in the chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Rev. David Gillespie and Rev. Ronnie Whitson will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
