We want to express a special thank you to Appalachian State GEAR UP Assistant Director of Curriculum and Instruction Rachel Nave-Lewis and Ashe Early College freshmen for their support of our Yancey eighth-graders.
Ashe Early College freshman students worked with the Appalachian GEAR UP Academic Team last Friday to build at-home STEM Kits. Within these kits, the students combined materials and resources to engage students and families while out of school due to Hurricane Helene, which consisted of four STEM projects. These kits will be sent out to our eighth-graders and their families next week.
