Yancey Humane Society is set to receive a $20,000 grant investment from national nonprofit Petco Love to go toward the construction of their proposed Spay/Neuter Clinic. According to Renee Tomberlin, Executive Director of Yancey Humane, “This generous lifesaving investment from Petco Love will help further our efforts to provide services to our community, in the form of fundraising to build the first Spay/Neuter Clinic of its kind in Yancey County. The clinic will provide low-cost spay/neuter options to not only residents of Yancey County and our shelter pets, but also to surrounding county shelters.” Susanne Kogut, president of Petco Love added, “Our investment in Yancey Humane Society is part of more than $15M in investments recently announced by Petco Love to power local organizations across the country as part of our commitment to create a future in which no pet is unnecessarily euthanized.”
Since its founding in 1999, Petco Love has invested nearly $400 million in adoption and other lifesaving efforts. And Petco Love helps find loving homes for pets in partnership with Petco and more than 4,000 organizations across North America, with more than 6.9 million pets adopted and counting.
