Anita Korwean Ledford Wright, age 50, of the Little Creek Community, went Home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 1st, 2024 at her home.
A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Marilyn Tutor Ledford.
She was preceded in death as well by a brother, Kevin Ledford, and a sister, Cheri Ledford, and father-in-law, Darrell Stanley Wright.
Anita was a proud resident of Yancey County and never wanted to live anywhere else. She enjoyed coloring with her gel pens in her adult coloring books, going to eat at Pal’s Restaurants, and loved doing her nails. She had the most wonderful sense of humor and was always saying the funniest things and making everyone laugh. Most of all, she was such a loving, caring person with the biggest heart. The love she had for her husband, children, grandchildren and family had no bounds, and she will be missed beyond words by them all.
She is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Freemont Stanley Wright; her children: Mykyla Wright (Mitchell McFarland) of Spruce Pine and Cody King of Little Creek; four grandchildren: Jerrick, Jamison, Kolter and Julia; sister, Dee Ledford of Little Creek; brother, Avin Ledford of Little Creek; mother-in-law, Sara Wright of Cane River; three sisters-in-law: Tammy Wright of Morganton, Barbie Miller (Victor) of Newdale, and Denise Crain (Morris) of Jacks Creek; best friends: Renee Casteel of East Yancey and Hope Huffman of Little Creek; and her feline companion, Tinka. She is survived as well by two nieces, five great-nieces and two great-nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 16th in the chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Rev. Adam Bradford and Rev. Lou Franklin will officiate. Music will be provided by Forrest Hopson and Tabitha Wilson.
