Ora Lee Canipe

Ora Lee Canipe went Home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 22, 2024. Born on January 28, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Cora Robinson Presnell. In addition to her biological father, she was preceded in death by Virgil Presnell, who raised her after her father had passed at a young age; as well as her son, Stanley Canipe; and her sister, Katherine Whitson.

Ora Lee was known for many wonderful things. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend to all. She was a strong Christian woman and treasured her relationship with her Lord and savior, Jesus Christ. She and her husband loved to travel and made it to every state in the U.S. except for Hawaii and Alaska. Many memories were made during those travels. Ora Lee was known to be quite a basketball player during her high school days. On average, she would score up to 27 points per game during her senior year, which was quite an accomplishment. Her husband recalls those times well, and lovingly says, “If there’s a basketball team in Heaven, she’s on it”. Ora Lee and C.C. were married for 69 years, which would’ve been 70 years, on Dec. 29th. Together they made a lifetime of memories which will continue to be cherished in the hearts of their loved ones.

She is survived by her husband, C.C. Canipe; son, Danny (Pamela) Canipe; sister, Faye Young; grandchildren: Melisssa Nicole Hite and Rebecca Michelle Wing of Oregon; great-grandchildren: Kaitlyn Wing, Jaydon Hite, and Noah Finch, all of Oregon; as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 25, 2024, in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home. Rev. Denny Wilson will be officiating. A private interment will follow the service.

Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home is respectfully serving the Canipe family.
