Agnes Burleson, age 91, of Altapass Highway in Spruce Pine, passed away Saturday, November 23, 2024, at her home.
Born on January 13, 1933, in Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late Stacey and Ruth Hogan Biddix. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Burleson who passed away in 1995. Also preceding her in death were her sons; Carl, Gary and Jim Burleson; her brothers; E.J., Forrest, and Wendall Biddix and her sister; Lucy Hall.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter; Amanda Storie and husband, David of Spruce Pine; her grandchildren; Robert Whittington of Spruce Pine, Ryan Whittington and wife, Brittany of Omaha, NE, Vic Burleson and wife, Heather of Spruce Pine, Grant Burleson of Spruce Pine and Cassie York and husband, Brian of Bakersville; her great grandchildren; Donovan, Elayna, Autumn, Jimmy, Brooke, Sadie, Gus, Ashton, Luke, Colton, and Cadence, her sisters; Atlas Benton, Linda McKinney, and Faye Wise all of Spruce Pine and her brother; Bud Biddix of Spruce Pine.
A time to support the family, share memories, and receive friends will be Saturday, November 30, 2024, at 1:00 pm, followed by the memorial service at 2:00 pm at Altapass Baptist Church with the Rev’s. Cameron Smith and Steve Davis officiating.
The family would like to extend a ‘Special Thank You’ to all of the people that loved and cared for Agnes over the years.
