William “Bill” Norris age 88 of Dale Road in Spruce Pine passed away Tuesday November 26, 2024, at the Greens of Spruce Pine. Born in Newport, New Hampshire he was the son of the late Andrew and Anna Partlow Norris. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of over seventy years Bernice Robinson Norris, a daughter Sandra Norris and a son Jim Norris.
Bill was the founder of Feldspar Trucking company for over fifty years. He enjoyed playing golf and trading cars.
Left to cherish his memories are his daughter Debora Buchanan and husband Randy of Burnsville, grandchildren Jimmy Correll (Brandy), Ashley Welborn (Ryan), Deanna Wellman (Josh) Jennifer Teasley (Jay) Bailey Huskins (Cole), McKenzie Angel (Drew), Dakota Norris (Keri) Lakin Ayers (Dustin), and Lawson Norris (Philesia), great grandchildren, Cole, Jaiden, Camden, Luke, Liam, Sullivan, Everette, Asher, Barrett, Rowan, Harlyn, Hudson, and Adelyn.
Funeral services for Mr. Norris will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday December 1, 2024, at the Faith Fellowship Church with the Rev. David Gillespie officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow in the Gus Young Cemetery.
