In Loving Memory of Sharon Edwards Greene

August 23, 1950 – December 8, 2024.

It is with heartfelt love and sadness that we share the passing of Sharon Edwards Greene on December 8, 2024, at the age of 74. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend—a source of wisdom and strength to her loved ones, and a shining example of compassion and dedication.

Born on August 23, 1950, in Erwin, Tennessee, Sharon had a lifelong passion for helping others. Her extensive medical knowledge was a testament to her commitment to making a difference in the lives of those around her. Whether through her professional work or her care for family and friends, Sharon brought healing and comfort to countless lives.

An avid fan of Duke basketball, Sharon could often be found cheering for her favorite team. She also found great joy in her faith and music, dedicating her time and talent to the choir at First Baptist Church Spruce Pine. Her beautiful voice and heartfelt performances uplifted the spirits of many and were a reflection of her love for Jesus her Savior.

Sharon is survived by her beloved husband of 40 years, Weldon Greene of Spruce Pine, NC. A son, Barrett Haben and wife Marissa of Boiling Springs, SC. A daughter, Stacie Storie and husband Adam of Burnsville, NC. A brother, John Edwards and wife Susie of Morganton, NC. Five grandchildren, Preston, Madison, Katie, Andrew and Abigail. Also, four nieces, Amanda Edwards, Heather Gouge, Carol (Dodie) Dawson, Amanda Burleson, and three nephews, Joe Greene, Brandon Greene and Josh Burleson. She is preceded in death by her parents, Tommye Pugh Edwards and James William Edwards of Spruce Pine.

The family will receive friends at 1:00 pm with funeral services following at 2:00 pm on Friday December 13, 2024, at First Baptist Church Spruce Pine. Interment will follow in the Spruce Pine Memorial cemetery.

Her legacy of love, kindness, and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
