Detective Richard Pittman with McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Preston Nathaniel Moss, age 23, of Marion, with felony Murder. He did not receive bond.
Just after midnight on Sunday, December 15, deputies responded to a Lentz Road address following a report of a gunshot wound. On arrival to the scene, deputies located the victim who had already succumbed to his injury from a single gunshot.
Upon investigation, Moss, who was on scene with the victim, was taken into custody and transported to McDowell County Jail.
The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation assisted with the incident.
