Cora Elizabeth Higgins McIntosh, 65, went Home to be with her Lord Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at Mission Hospital in Asheville.
A native of Yancey County, Elizabeth was a daughter of the late Mack Ray Higgins and Bergy Lou Austin Higgins. She was preceded in death by her sister Betty Jean Higgins Blakely. Elizabeth was a life-long caretaker and educator of children, having worked for Head Start, Turning Point Services, and several after-school programs. She was passionate about healthy eating, reading, and her grandchildren.
Surviving are her sons, Jordan McIntosh and wife, Michelle, and Caleb McIntosh and wife, Victoria of Greer, SC; brother, Ray Higgins; sister, Nancy Ayers and husband, Jim of Burnsville. Two grandchildren also survive.
A private graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 21st, 2024.
