Michael “Mike” Ray Gouge, age 72, of Roan Valley, passed after a brief illness on Sunday, December 22nd, 2024 at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital. He was the son of the late Glenn Ray and Betty Nadine Wilson Gouge.
Mike enjoyed being outdoors. He was always out walking in the woods. He worked at Henredon for many years and was an artist by trade, working with wood. In his free time, he enjoyed tinkering with any automobiles. Most important to him was his family, especially his wife, son and granddaughter, whom he loved dearly.
Left to survive his memory is his loving wife of 50 years, Karen Denise Gouge; his son, Kristopher Gouge of Bakersville; granddaughter, Ashton Gouge; sister, Kay Baker and husband, Allen, of Bakersville; his little dog, Noodles; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
