Becky Sparks Justus, age 88, of Bear Creek Road in Bakersville, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2025 at the Green’s of Spruce Pine.
Born on January 19, 1936 in McDowell County, she was the daughter of the late Roby Lee and the late Bessie Cox Lee. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Jack Sparks and later her second husband, Bobby Justus. Also preceding her in death was her son, Jeff Sparks, her sister, Cookie Burleson, a nephew, Scotty Burleson and a great nephew, Brian Singleton.
Becky was a member of the Ledger Baptist Church. At Ledger Baptist Church, she was a Sunday School teacher, sang in the choir, directed Christmas plays and made costumes for her church plays and also made costumes for other church plays as well. She was retired from Baxter Health Care of North Cove. She enjoyed traveling, working in her garden and flowers, spending time with children and easing chocolate, and sang Gospel Music in Churches in the area with the Golden Age Singers.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughter; Teresa Dale and husband, Dennis of Bakersville, her son; Jack Sparks, Jr, of Marion, her grandchildren; Kristen Styles and husband, Curtis, Chelsey Sparks, Matthew Ward and wife, Amy, Michelle Smith and husband, Shannon, Levi Dale and wife, Amber, Autumn Killman and husband, David, her great grandchildren; Daylee and Anistyn Styles, Elijah and Linsie Smith and Corbin Killman a niece; Carolyn Adkins and a nephew; Tim Burleson and wife, Rosalee.
A time to support the family, share memories, and receive friends will be on Monday, January 6, 2025 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Ledger Baptist Church. The funeral service will be on Monday, January 6, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Ledger Baptist Church with Rev. Matt Ward officiating. Interment will be in the Ledger Baptist Church Cemetery.
