Mountain Heritage Football Players named in the Citizen Times All-WNC Football Team:

Offensive Player of the Year

Brandon Quinn

Quarterback | Mountain Heritage | Sr.

After the destruction of Helene in Yancey County, the community turned to Mountain Heritage for hope. Quinn and the Cougars responded. The senior led his team to a 1A Western Regional final appearance by rushing for a WNC-best 2,019 yards with 29 touchdowns and passing for 621 yards on 59% completion with 11 touchdowns and no interceptions. He also added a receiving touchdown, bringing his total to 41 on the year for the 12-1 Cougars.

Braxton Batchelor

Offensive line | Mountain Heritage | Jr.

Batchelor led the Cougars to a Western Highlands Conference championship and an NCHSAA 1A West Regional final appearance with 27 pancake blocks. Mountain Heritage rushed for 4,552 yards with 60 touchdowns while throwing for 723 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Cason Jones

Athlete | Mountain Heritage | Jr.

Jones was a jack-of-all-trades for the Cougars, rushing for 692 yards with seven touchdowns on 61 carries and 13 catches for 343 yards with four touchdowns. The 6-3, 195-pound junior was also a dominant blocker in the running game.
