Nancy Jane Ayers Ogle

On this day, January 14th, 2025, Nancy Jane Ogle left this earthly body and received her Heavenly body.

Nancy was a member of the West Burnsville Church of God where she served faithfully in many areas of the church.  She was Ladies Ministries Secretary/Treasurer for a number of years, Sunday School Secretary and Church Clerk, all in which she did a wonderful job.

Nancy was a Realtor for Carolina Mtn. Realty since 1979.  She enjoyed her job of finding people their forever home or selling properties for those needing to make a change.  Nancy was a lady of the upmost honesty and integrity in all she done.  Over the years she made many friends and helped a lot of people along her journey through life.

Nancy loved her family more than anything and was always there for them as a loving mother, granny and great-granny.  Nancy became a widow at an early age when the love of her life Pete Ogle passed away.  She was a woman of courage and lovingly took care of her children and their home with hard work and dedication.  Anyone who knew Nancy remembered her laughter, she didn’t hold back and made everyone around laugh with her.

Worley and Velma Ayers of Green Mountain were her parents.  They have both been deceased for a number of years.  She also lost a grandson, David Kyle Woody, sister, Evelyn Byrd and her husband, Walter Byrd, brother-in-law, Harold Hughes, sister-in-law, Linda Ayers, paternal grandparents, Seymor and Nancy Letterman Ayers and maternal grandparents, George and Mary Fox Robinson.

Surviving are her precious children, Tammy Ogle Jones, Tammy’s son, Tristan Jones, his children, Ranger and Kyle, Tammy’s daughter, Megan Jones Tolley (Christian), her children, Brinley and Merritt, her youngest daughter, Tonya Ogle Carroll (Christopher) and her children, Ryan and Gavin.  Also surviving is a sister, Mary Katherine Hughes and her daughter, Kelly Hughes, brother, Martin Ayers (Midge) and his children, Brian, Shannon and Randy Ayers, nephew, Robert Byrd, her brother and sister in love, Gerald and Donna Honeycutt, their son, Mark Honeycutt (Tammy), great-nephew, Nick Honeycutt (Kandias) and their children, Ava, Tanner and Hunter and a great-niece, Nicole Honeycutt, who all loved her very dearly.

Ryan and Gavin helped care for their granny and deserves recognition for all the work they done, although she would tell Ryan he was killing her when he would help her with physical therapy.  She loved each of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren in a special way and that love will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 21st, 2025 in the chapel of Yancey Funeral Services.  Pastor Randal Phillips and Rev. Eugene Moore will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Wilson Cemetery on John Henry Road.  The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home.

The family would like to say a very special thank you to Madison Health and Rehabilitation and Compassionate Care WNC for the wonderful care given to Nancy and the support for her family.  Memorial donations may be made to West Burnsville Church of God at P.O. Box 1270 Burnsville, NC 28714.  To send online condolences, please visit our website at www.yanceyfuneralservice.com.
