Local emergency services received an anonymous report of a possible active shooter at around 8:11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 21st at McDowell High School. A large number of law enforcement and EMS responded. Law enforcement searched the building and found no victims. There were also no gunshots heard. Students at McDowell High School and West McDowell Middle School were released at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
