
Yancey County is pleased to announce the appointment of Brandon S. Price as the new Emergency Management Director. The extensive experience Brandon brings to Yancey County will be instrumental in our recovery efforts and enhancing our emergency preparedness.
About Brandon S. Price
Brandon brings 29 years of experience in emergency services and emergency management. Throughout his career, he has served as a member of the NC State USAR Task Force 11 and the NC Incident Management Team. His extensive knowledge in Incident Command System (ICS) and National Incident Management System (NIMS) is complemented by multiple certifications, including Swift Water Strike Team Leader with North Carolina Emergency Management (NCEM). Brandon is also a Level 3 fire/rescue instructor with the North Carolina Office of State Fire Marshal (NCOSFM) and holds numerous instructor qualifications, including Live Fire Instructor.
Brandon began his career as a Paramedic with Forsyth County EMS and a volunteer Firefighter with Clemmons Fire Department. He has since held various positions, including career Fire Captain for New Hanover County Fire/Rescue and Town of Leland Fire/Rescue, Assistant Fire Chief of Winnabow Fire Department, and Assistant Operations Supervisor for Brunswick County EMS.
His experience in managing both small- and large-scale natural disasters and emergency incidents is extensive. Notable events he has managed include Hurricane Florence, an EF3 Tornado in Brunswick County, Potential Tropical Cyclone #8, and most recently, Hurricane Helene.
Brandon is deeply committed to the community and has a strong desire to enhance emergency preparedness and resilience for Yancey County.
