Angela Allen, age 58, of Pensacola, went Home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 2nd, 2025 at her home, surrounded by her loving family after a lengthy battle with cancer. A native of Mitchell County, she was a daughter of Barbara Crowder Honeycutt of Bolens Creek and the late Cecil Rice, who passed away in 1986. She was also preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Donna Hughes, and brother-in-law, Fred Allen.
Angela was a graduate of Mitchell High School who retired from Baxter Laboratories after 27 years of service. She was a member of Pensacola Freewill Baptist Church who loved going to Florida and staying at Destin. Her greatest joys were her family and her chocolate Labs: Brownie and Jasper, and also her cat, Neil.
In addition to her mother and stepdad, Barbara and Kermit Honeycutt, she is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Randy Allen; son, Rodney Forbes of Old Fort; daughter, Amber Jones (Devin Norton) of Saw Mill Hollow; grandchildren: Johnathan Masten (Savannah), Ethan Forbes (Tori), Kayleigh Stansberry, Layla Morgan and Rhett Jones; brother, Jonathan Daniel Rice (Beverly) of Clinton, TN; step-sisters: Karen Roberts (Tim) of Wilkesboro and Kellie Simmons (Chip) of Cary; sister-in-law, Linda Allen of Pensacola; brothers-in-law: David Allen of Asheville, Ricky “Cheese” Allen of Pensacola and Charles Hughes of Burnsville. Also surviving are her best friends: Pat Hughes of Burnsville, Christy Edwards of Pensacola, Tonya McMahan of Pensacola and many other extended family members and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 8th at Pensacola Freewill Baptist Church. Rev. Austin Wilson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Allen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Friday, February 7th at Yancey Funeral Services.
