Jack Lee Edge Sr., 91 of Morganton, NC passed away with his family by his side on Saturday February 1, 2025.
He was the son of the late Arthur and Ina Edge. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years Jo Edge, daughter Pamela Edge and three brothers John (Jay), Wallace and Billy Ray Edge, Sr.
Jack Edge lived his entire life with integrity and honesty, and he admired those traits in others. He was dedicated to his family and friends and strived to make their lives better and help them realize their potential. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was born in Yancey County, NC, owned and operated several retail and real estate businesses in Yancey, McDowell and surrounding counties. He was a US Army Veteran. He had a genius mind for business- amazing work ethic, and attention to detail…. tackling problems and turning challenges into opportunities brought him joy. He was great at reading people and guiding them to make good decisions. He was exacting, and held others to the same high standard, but he helped people obtain those standards. He enjoyed spending time at Lake James, Surfside Beach, SC and weekly visits to the Morganton Elks Lodge with friends and family. His family always considered it a treat when he laughed and had that twinkle in his eye.
Left to cherish his memory, his daughter Vickie Edge, son Jack Lee Edge, Jr. (Rhonda) Three Grandchildren Amy Edge (Marisela), Justin Bigwitch (Michaela) and Leeann Edge (Jessie), One great granddaughter Abbie Brooks all of Morganton. Jonnie Houck friend/companion also of Morganton.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025, in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home in Burnsville, NC. Receiving of friends will be held from 1-2, with the service following at 2:00. Pastor David M Rorie of North Morganton United Methodist Church will be officiating. Military Gravesite Honors will immediately follow the graveside service at the Holcombe Cemetery in Burnsville, NC. There will also be a celebration of life at the Morganton Elks Lodge on Friday, February 21st, 2025, from 6-8.
