Rev. Dale E. Banks

Rev. Dale E. Banks, age 80 of Burnsville, NC, was called away on Thursday, February 6, 2025. He was the son of the late Everett and Avaline Arrowood Banks. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Oliver Banks; sisters: Lois Brown, Joyce McElrath, Avis McMahan, and Louise Warren; as well as a grandchild, Blake Bennett.

Dale was, by nature, a people person. He could talk to anyone; and by doing so, he ministered to people near and far. Dale started pastoring at a young age and went on to pastor at the following churches: Bigwitch Baptist Church, Stoney Fork Baptist Church, Carson’s Chapel Baptist Church, Fairview Baptist Church, Crabtree Baptist Church, and Johnson’s Chapel Baptist Church. He touched the hearts and lives of many people during his ministry. Dale loved nothing more than to spread the word of God. He always said, “Beyond anything else in this world, I love the Lord, my loving wife, my children, and my grandchildren”. He believed strongly that you always put the Lord first in your heart and in your life, no matter what. Dale loved to tend a garden and share what he had grown. He also enjoyed woodworking. He was a man of many talents, a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, and his memory will be cherished in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

He is survived by his loving wife, Clara Banks; sons: Lenny (Julia) Banks of Green Mountain, NC, and Michael (Jenny) Banks of Burnsville, NC; daughter, Linda (Stuart) Bennett of Arden, NC; grandchildren: Cody (Anna) Bennett, Austin Bennett, Tyler Banks, Brandy (Jarrod) Crain, Dylan Banks, Alyssia (Austen) Rocha, and Dakota (Olivia) Banks; and great-grandchildren: Gabriel, Gracie, Everly, Desmond, Blaydn, Londyn, Zachariah and Austin.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 10, 2025, in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home in Burnsville, NC. The family will receive friends and loved ones for visitation from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m., with the service following at 2:00. Reverend Bill Shoupe and Dr. Ron Lane will be officiating. The interment will follow the service at the Everett Banks Cemetery in Burnsville, NC.

The family would like to say a special thanks to Dr. Ron Lane, who was a special caretaker and friend for many years; as well as PA Linda Gale and her staff, for their exceptional care of Dale. Lisa and Miranda with hospice foresaw bringing Dale home where his wishes were fulfilled.
