Peter Thomas McCosh

With broken hearts we announce the passing of Peter Thomas McCosh, a man of endless love and an adventurous spirit. Born in Bangalore, India, he carried with him a deep appreciation for the beauty of the world — its waters, its forests, and the endless horizons that called to him.

A devoted husband, father, brother, and grandfather, Peter loved his family proudly, fiercely and unconditionally. He was a storyteller in the truest sense, bringing to life the incredible adventures of his youth and his memories from India, England, Canada and the U.S.

He leaves behind a legacy of love, courage, and kindness. His life was a testament to the power of curiosity, the strength of family, and the beauty of the natural world. Though he is no longer with us, his presence will forever be felt in the warming rays of sunlight, the cleansing power of water, songs of birds, and stars that often guided him home.

Peter is survived by his wife; Marian of forty-four years, his children; Michelle McCosh (Lee), Mark (Pam) McCosh, Emma (Ade) Cadman, Steven (Heather) McCosh, and Kate (Jon) Bartek. His grandchildren; Kelly (Zack), Thomas, Jake (Wyatt), Jordy, Liv, Hunter, Lincoln, and Hadleigh, and his beloved sisters; Maria (Jim) Mansfield and Penny (John) Thompson, and nephew; Paul (Irene) Mansfield. His memory will be cherished always, and his love will live on in the adventures of those he leaves behind.

A celebration of Peter’s life will be held outdoors in Florida this spring for friends and family to share stories, laugh, and love in his honor. Later this year, his remains will be laid to rest alongside his mum in England.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you plant a tree or flowers, feed the birds, or have a sweet treat for breakfast. Raise your glass, hug those you love. Life is for living intentionally.
