Harold Eugene Rathburn

Harold Eugene Rathburn, age 80, of Pensacola, went Home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 8th, 2025 at Mission Hospital.

He was a lifelong resident of Pensacola, and was a timber cutter and truck driver all his career.  He loved spending time with his daughter, grandchildren and great-grandbabies.  He always enjoyed being in the woods and taking his daughter coon hunting and camping.  He loved being in and raising his garden, going to the ramp patch, and hunting morel mushrooms.  Gene enjoyed getting out and riding his four-wheeler.  He always enjoyed hanging out with his nephew at the wood yard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Landon and Bonnie Rathburn; sisters:  Helen Raper, Lucille Banks and Doris Hollifield; brothers:  Charles Rathburn, Wayne Rathburn and Junior Rathburn; and one great-grandbaby.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 56 years, Frances Rathburn; his daughter, Regina Rathburn; grandchildren:  Brittany Rathburn and Dillon Laws (Amanda); great-grandson, Weston Laws; and great-granddaughter, Riley Laws, all of Burnsville.  He is also survived by a sister, Joyce Briggs (Mike) of Burnsville, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 14th in the chapel of Yancey Funeral Services.  Pastor Nic Coates and Pastor Keith Blankenship will officiate.  The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home.  Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, March 17th at the Eddie McMahan Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Dillon Laws, Brittany Rathburn, Donald Rathburn, Keith Hollifield, Donald Banks and Billy Rathburn.
