Fred Robinson, age 85, of the Bee Log community, went Home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at the Solace Center in Asheville. He was a son of the late Rev. Elzie and Ada Higgins Robinson. Fred was also preceded in death by his siblings: Virgil, Andy, and Willy Robinson, Gladys Buckner and Anna Mae Vickers along with a young man that he thought of like a son, Ethan Pittman.
Fred loved to sing and play bluegrass music on his guitar; his passion was to work and tinker on Datsun trucks. He enjoyed going to flee markets, as well as going out to eat with his family. He loved his family more than anything and will be greatly and deeply missed by all who knew him.
Surviving are his two sons: Jackie Robinson and Bobby Robinson; grandchildren: Elizabeth Robinson and Jacqueline Wilson (Kenny); great-grandchildren: Christian Wilson, Kylie Robinson (Junior), Kennedy Wilson, Keira Wilson and Haven Wilson; great-great-grandchild, Marley. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 20 at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Pastor Randy Stevens will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A private burial will be held.
