Dr. Jeffrey Kaplan, age 70 of Doc Howell Road in Spruce Pine passed away peacefully from complications of Leukemia on Wednesday March 12, 2025, at the Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte surrounded by his family.
Born in Denver, Colorado, he was a son of the late Arthur and Shyrle Gladstone Kaplan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a younger brother.
Jeffrey loved teaching and doing many types of Field Research and also enjoyed reading.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife Sheron Hollifield Kaplan of the home, stepson, Luke Robinson and wife Jodi of Bakersville, brother-in-law Tim Hollifield and wife Kathey of Spruce Pine and his furry companion Amal.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Jeffrey’s life on Saturday March 22, 2025, from 12:00 until 4:00 pm at his residence.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Mitchell County Animal Rescue PO Box 308 Spruce Pine, NC 28777.
