Grace Fox Dellinger, age 84, of the Jacks Creek Community, went Home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 10, 2025 at her daughters home surrounded by her loving family.
A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late Jennings and Geneva Davis Fox. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Dennis Dellinger, who passed away in 2012; a daughter, Patricia Geneva Dellinger Habanec; siblings: Ethel Evans, Evelene Black, Ruth Wilson, Florence McCurry, Carl Fox, Sylvestes Fox, Floyd Fox and Paul Fox.
Grace loved to crochet, crafting, coloring, gardening and enjoyed babysitting her nieces and nephews. She was known as a “firecracker” who loved her family deeply.
Surviving are her daughter: Melisa Lorane Dellinger Arrington (Charles); granddaughters: Jessica Grace Moore and Audrianna Moore; great-grandchildren: Ashtyn Kyler Mathis and Araya Hope Burian; siblings: Annette Bailey, Edison Fox and Mattie Berry; significant other, Luther McIntosh and his family: Glenda Hensley, Marty McIntosh, Renee McIntosh and Todd McIntosh. Several other nieces and nephews also survive.
A funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19 in the chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Rev. Philip Garland will officiate. The family will receive friends from 4 until 5 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home. Private burial will be in the Jacks Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
