If you miss hearing the crack of the bat, turning a double play, or the camaraderie of playing America’s favorite pastime, this may be a great opportunity to be a part of the team. The Burnsville Bears senior softball team will begin outdoor practices and their 2025 season soon. We hold indoor practice on Friday mornings at 10 am at the old Burnsville Gym near the Library (314 School Cir, Burnsville, NC 28714). Beginning in April and weather permitting, we hope to practice outside. The place and time will hopefully be determined by then as hurricane Helene destroyed our home field at Cane River Park. The team usually plays against 4 other local senior teams (Hendersonville, Ashe County, Boone, and Johnson City) throughout the spring, summer, and early autumn. The Bears travel to the other teams’ home fields for their away games. All contests are 7 inning doubleheaders. The minimum age for players is 60. If interested or have questions.
