Recover, Rebuild, Renew Bakersville is moving forward. The first phase of the project has been completed. The Advance Planning Team from the Communities by Design (CBD) has taken their findings from the two-day preliminary initial visit to Bakersville and have scheduled 28-30 May as the date for the community assessment visit.
Based on the findings from the first visit, the team will select 4-5 highly qualified volunteers from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) to come to Bakersville, gather additional input from as many community members as possible, and then create an action plan specifically for our town.
It is important that as many people from the Bakersville area as possible will get involved so please put those dates on your calendar. Additional information and the full schedule will be released as the project progresses.
There are not specific tasks established at this time; however, there will be opportunities for community members to volunteer for a variety of support roles. We hope you will be interested and contact us.
