Michael P. Allen of Greenville, SC, passed away at the Solace Center in Asheville, NC on March 14th, 2025, at the age of 75.
Born on July 1st of 1949, Papa Michael spent most of his life in South Carolina but had the privilege of traveling all over the United States for work and other hobbies. He had an eye for antiques and Dually trucks. He was a kind, generous, and wise man who touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He told stories about his life every time he got the chance. He will be remembered for his warm smile, unwavering support, and his deep love for his family.
Michael was predeceased by his wife, Linda Allen; his parents, Beauford and Louise (Mawmaw) Allen; and his son, Kevin Wheatley. He is survived by his sons, Chris Allen (Melesha Phillips) and Casey Allen; his pride and joy granddaughters: Michaela Allen and Caitlyn Bridges (Dillion); grandchildren: Justin, Courtney, Korri Ann, and Amber; he just welcomed his newest great granddaughter, Madelyn Bridges, along with 4 other great grandchildren; his brothers and sisters: Anthony Allen (Donna), Furman Allen (Gina), Terry Allen (Deborah), Sharon Hawthorne & Jane Greene.
Papa was happiest when his family was happy. He imparted lessons of life, love, and strength to his children and grandchildren. His legacy of kindness, integrity, and hard work will live on in all those he leaves behind. May he rest in peace, knowing that his love and spirit will continue to inspire those who knew him.
A memorial service will be held at Gap Creek Baptist Church in Cleveland, SC, on March 20, 2025, at 2:00 pm. Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of his life and to share memories.
