Betty Gallagher, age 84, formerly of Spruce Pine passed away, Monday, March 24, 2025.
She was the daughter of the late Virgil and Maude Vance. Also, preceding her in death were her sisters; Mildred Boone, Mary Lou Matthews and Shirley Peterson, her brothers; Bobby Vance and Danny Vance and her loving husband, Ed Gallagher, who passed in 2010.
She is survived by her son and daughter, Eddie and Janet, her sister; Bunny Hall of Christiansburg, VA and a brother; Jerry Vance of Spruce Pine.
Betty loved gardening, canning, working in her flowers and crafting. She was known to quickly learn anything she tried including ceramics, painting, quilting, sewing, bow making, and rag dishtowel dolls.
Before moving back to Spruce Pine in 1974 Betty was a trained cosmetologist. She worked for many years at Baxter Healthcare while raising her family.
She will be greatly missed; but, is with her family and will be waiting at the gate for the rest of her family.
