Fonnie Darlene Holder Klein

Fonnie Darlene Holder Klein, 72, passed away at home on Thursday, 20th of March 2025.

Born in Yukon, West Virginia to the late Hattie Mae Ledford Holder and Max Holder, she was a devoted sister to Linda, Patricia, Roger, and David.

Fonnie is remembered by her daughter, Anessa Marie (Klein) Quirit and her husband Julian J. Quirit; her sons Robert Thomas Klein III, of Newport News, Virginia, Max David Klein, of Muncie, Indiana; and her beloved grandsons Chase Julian and Miles Hudson Quirit.

Upon graduating from Big Creek High school, Fonnie moved to Washington DC where she became a dedicated professional whose attention to detail was unmatched while working within the Department of Agriculture and Federal Home Loan Bank Board. She received multiple award certificates in official recognition and appreciation for consistent, outstanding service and expertise in her field.

After 15 years working within the Federal Government, Fonnie transferred her wisdom and skills to motherhood as a military wife, where she modelled the values of a good education, hard work and attention to detail. She will also be remembered for her ability to actively listen and respond with a natural insight and empathy to the needs of others.

Fonnie will be laid to rest on March 29, 2025, in Cane Creek Cemetery following the 3pm service at Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine, NC. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Peninsula Agency on Aging.
