Mark Anthony Buchanan, age 53, of Spruce Pine passed away Thursday March 27, 2025, at his home. Born in Mitchell County he was a son of Vonda Webb and the late Milton Buchanan. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter Bethany Buchanan.
Mark worked as a landscaper working for Jack Wiseman for many years. He liked watching birds, making crosses and taking pictures and he loved the Lord.
Left to cherish his memories in addition to his mother Vonda Webb of Bakersville is his wife Dema Selena Gough Buchanan of the home, sons, Garrett Buchanan of Burnsville, Blaze Buchanan and wife Santana of Spruce Pine, Zachary Buchanan of Newland and Mark Buchanan and wife Kenzie of Spruce Pine, a daughter Kellie Byrd and husband Trenton of Spruce Pine, special nephew Jonathon Buchanan of Spruce Pine, sisters, Missy Griffith and husband Ricky of Spruce Pine and Sarah Boggs of Hickory and a brother Daniel Buchanan of Spruce Pine. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will gather for a celebration of Marks life at a later date.
