Angeline Sowers Rathbone, age 76, of the South Toe community, went Home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 1st, 2025 at Mission Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Charles “Charlie” Theodore Sowers and Margaret Thelma Effler Sowers. She is also proceeded in death by her brother Danny Sowers.
Angeline was a member of Old Path Church and loved the Lord. She enjoyed going to the beach, collecting seashells and visiting lighthouses. She loved to sit and watch hummingbirds flutter around. Most importantly she loved spending time with her family. One of her favorite past times was watching tv, some of her favorite shows were Doc Martin, Dancing With The Stars and Survivor.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 58 years, Jack Rathbone; her daughters: Amanda Ledford (Waylon) of Burnsville, Amy Rathbone (James Wheeler) of Burnsville; son: Brian Rathbone (Ginger) of Burnsville; grandchildren: Jordan Ledford (Lauren), Jade Bolick (Nick), Danielle Parker (Patrick), Jason Edwards (Savannah), Katelyn Rathbone, Hannah Rathbone, Mercedes Smith (Jaten Wilson), Amber Gouge; and great-grandchildren: Maverick Edwards, Lainey Edwards, Charlotte Bolick and Oaklen Edwards.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 4th, 2025 at South Estatoe Baptist Church Cemetery. Reverend Matt Hopson will officiate.
