Harris Honeycutt

Harris Honeycutt, age 77, of Snow Hill Road in Bakersville, passed away Monday, March 31, 2025.

Born on May 27, 1947 in Mitchell County, he was the son of the late Robert and Mamie Edwards Honeycutt. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Ledford Honeycutt who passed away in 2017. Also preceding him in death was his brother; Willard Honeycutt and his sisters; Eloise Davis, Ella Mae Silvers, Cora Bailey and Doris Franklin.

Harris was a member of Snow Hill Baptist Church. He had served as a supply pastor at numerous churches in Mitchell and surrounding counties. He was retired from Henredon Furniture of Spruce Pine. Following his retirement from Henredon, he went back to work at Hickory Springs Manufacturing in Micaville. He enjoyed farming, raising pigs, gardening, coon hunting and fishing.

Left to cherish his memories are his son; Chris Honeycutt and fiancé, Tina of Bakersville, his grandchildren; Kegan, Jordan, Luke, Allison, Ethan, Courtney, Abby and Jaylan, his great grandson; Rylan Shaun Honeycutt, his brothers; Sid Honeycutt of Chucky, TN and Ray Honeycutt and wife, Kathy of Bakersville, and his sister; Lois Yelton of Tennessee.

A time to share memories, support the family and receive friends will be on Thursday, April 3, 2025 from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Snow Hill Baptist Church. The service honoring the life of Harris Honeycutt will be on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at 3:00 pm at Snow Hill Baptist Church with the Rev’s. Dean Honeycutt and Josh Cook officiating. Interment will be in Snow Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family would like extend a special ‘Thank You’ to the staff of Compassionate Care of Western North Carolina for their care of Harris during his illness.
