Ethan Cole McKinney, age 38 of Galax Trail in Spruce Pine passed away Thursday April 3, 2025, at his home. Born in Mitchell County he was the son of Patricia Laws Harmon and the late Anthony McKinney. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Rex McKinney and Reece Laws.
Ethan enjoyed music, fishing and playing ball with his kids, he was a former member of Parkway Fire Department, and he loved each and everyone.
Left to cherish his memories in addition to his mother Patrcia Laws Harmon and her husband Joey of Spruce Pine is his wife Ashley Young McKinney of the home, daughter, Tatem McKinney and her mother Christy of Spruce Pine, son, Ryker McKinney, stepsons, Cooper Beam and Colson Shuford, sister, Candice Woody of Spruce Pine, Paternal Grandmother, Linda McKinney of Spruce Pine, Maternal Grandmother, Charlene Bolick of Bakersville, Step Grandmother, Paulette McKinney, uncles, Rocky and Mark McKinney, nephew, Jack Woody and nieces, Allyssa Barnett and Shelby Woody.
A service to celebrate the life of Ethan McKinney will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday April 12, 2025, in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home with the Rev. Blake Glenn officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Private inurnment will be in the McKinney Gap Cemetery.
