Clifford M. Ledford, age 62, of the Glen Ayre Community, went Home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 5th, 2025, at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital. A native of Mitchell County, he was a son of the late Charlie and Ruby Lee Burleson Ledford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters: June Collier and Jackie Street; and two brothers-in-law, Marshall Street and J.R. Street.
Clifford was a hard-working man, having spent 28 years at Sibelco as a plant operator. He loved spending time in the outdoors, especially the Blue Ridge Parkway and Roan Mountain, and spent time hiking and exploring waterfalls with his wife. He also enjoyed singing and listening to all genres of music. The most important thing to him was spending time with his family, especially making memories with his grandchildren.
Left to survive his memory are his loving wife of 39 years, Kimberly Dawn Norman Ledford; two children: Ethan Ledford (Emily) of Bakersville and Shawna Kneen (Brandon) of Spruce Pine; six grandchildren: Garrett, Andrew, Daniel, Oak, Willow and Hazel; four sisters: Janice Street and Judy Street (Henry) of Bakersville, Janie Cook (Tom) of Bakersville, and Joyce Clark (Robert) of Charlotte; and three brothers: Clement Ledford and Clinton Ledford (Sherry) of Bakersville, and Charles Ledford (Carole) of Johnson City, TN. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 10th at Roan Valley Baptist Church in Glen Ayre. Pastor Chris Hitechew will officiate. Burial will follow in the Burleson Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 until 4 p.m. prior to the services at the church.
