Roscoe Cook

Roscoe Cook, age 79 of Burnsville, went Home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 14th, 2025, at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital.

Born on December 10th, 1945, he was the son of the late Ralph and Margaret Wilson Cook. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 46 years, Iris Geouge Cook; brothers: James Cook, Thermon Cook, Lloyd Cook, and Luther Cook; sisters: Grace Hughes, Joyce Wheeling, Deborah Cook, and Wilma Cook; and one grandson, Andrew Hoilman.

Roscoe was known for his easy ways, ready smile, and witty sense of humor. He was a man who loved the Lord with all his heart, and cherished his family, who loved him deeply. His pride and joy were his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Although we mourn his passing, and we miss him terribly, we find relief and comfort knowing that Roscoe and Iris are rejoicing together in Heaven today.

Left to cherish his memory are his children: David Cook of Maggie Valley, Leona Cook of Green Mountain, Travis (Joan) Cook of Connelly Springs, Daniel Cook of Weaverville, and Leslie (James) Cook Robinson of Spruce Pine; grandchildren: Christopher (Gina) Abernethy, Erica Woody, Jordan Cook, Faith (Stephen) Blackwell, Mason Cook, Colby Cook, Austen (Anna Brooke) Wilson, Katie Wilson, and Maddison (Logan) Hoilman Silvers; great-grandchildren: Carson Menning, Andrew Woody, Eliza Blackwell, and Jax Sanders; as well and numerous friends, nieces, and nephews, and cousins.

Funeral Services will begin with a receiving of friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 17th, 2025, in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held the following day at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 18th, 2025, in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home.
