The Carolina Hurricanes have stepped up to support storm recovery efforts in Western North Carolina, announcing a $150,000 grant to Mitchell County Recreation for repairs stemming from damage caused by Hurricane Helene.
Team representatives joined local officials at Wade Tipton Field for a formal check presentation, highlighting the Hurricanes’ continued commitment to community support across the state.
Brian Fork, CEO of the NHL team, was also photographed proudly holding the “We Are Mitchell” flag ahead of the Hurricanes’ playoff game against the New Jersey Devils at Lenovo Arena, symbolizing solidarity with the community as it rebuilds.
