Greg Buchanan, age 66, of the Snow Hill community, went Home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 26th, 2025 at his home. A native Mitchell County, he was a son of the late Robert Jack and Etta Virginia Whitson Buchanan. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Joel Buchanan and a nephew, Joshua Buchanan.
Greg was an avid sports fan who loved working on old classic cars, and watching Westerns. He worked with his brother for over ten years installing satellites in the surrounded counties. Most of all, he loved his family.
Surviving is his three brothers: Bobby Buchanan and wife, Anita, of Bakersville, Dean Buchanan and wife, Mary, of Tipton Hill and Mark Buchanan of Bakersville. He is also survived by one niece, two nephews, many great-nieces and great-nephews along with several cousins.
Funeral Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, May 2nd in the chapel of Yancey Funeral Services with Pastor Travis Cox officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Private burial will be in the Whitson-Garland Cemetery on Beans Creek.
