The monthly meeting of the Mountain Piecemakers Quilt Guild will be held in the Burnsville Town Center on Tuesday May 13. The social time begins at 6:00, with business meeting at 6:30. Mountain Piecemakers guild engages in many activities such as providing members with programs and classes teaching quilting techniques and design, conducting workshops to provide in-depth instruction and holding regular quilting bees that provide opportunities for practicing these techniques. The guild provides Linus quilts to children in need in Mitchell, Yancey and Madison counties as well as creating quilts for local veterans that are given at the Flags for Heroes Veterans Celebration. Anyone interested in quilting is welcome to join us for this meeting or any of our activities.
